hackathon: Fablab Amersfoort - Let's make a pet bottle filament maker

Let's try that too!

hackathon: Diana - develop a small tempeh maker for your kitchen

After having tried to build a tempeh maker from an open design, I decided to start over from scratch. My goal is to make an automatic tempeh maker for one or two pieces of tempeh.
We will make the housing, electronics and control software.
You might go home with your own tempeh maker!

hackathon: De WAR - an open mesh network for communication

In this hackathon we will test some devices for mesh communication over Lora. We will use meshtastic and some other protocols.
We will play with the hardware and start a lokal network for emergency communication.

workshop: Harmen G. Zijp - Public Tech Skill Tree

In this hands-on workshop on digital autonomy you'll find out how to become less dependent on the solutions Big Tech has to offer. Bring your devices and start using the Public Tech Skill Tree, step by step, to visualize your skill progress, identify skill gaps and get inspired to try new things.

other: Harmen G. Zijp - Unprepping: keeping a balance between indifference and panic by building a future for better or worse

Watching the news can be unnerving these days. Climate change and other crises loom large and our political system seems woefully inadequate to handle them. Staying passive is not an option but acting is difficult as well. After all, what difference can one person make? It can be hard to avoid the pitfalls of futile panic streaks or a cynical retreat. In this session I want to explore what can be done to be prepared with out ending up in full camouflage behind a wall of canned beans. Some actions will also prepare us for an optimistic future. Let's identify them and start work.

other: Joris Van Dorpe - What kind of biolab does De WAR wants?

Now that the realization of the new citizen science biolab comes closer, we can rediscuss for which applications we would like to use it for. It might inspire us all to make it functional sooner.

lecture: Initiatiefgroep Gelote Burgerraad - Proceedings of the Citizens's Assembly

This year, the first Citizens' Assembly convened in Amersfoort. A group of 54 citizens, selected by lot, came together to discuss on the topic of waste reduction. How does the Citizens' Assembly work, what came out of it and what has to be changed for the next round?

hackathon: Joris Van Dorpe - Biolab construction

Come and join the construction of your own citizen science biolab!

In this hackathon we will continue to build the biolab to make it functional as soon as soon as possible and in line with the ethical charter in our website.

hackathon: Stefan Lehner - Sandbattery

Let's build a simple but working sand battery. With the sun collectors on our roof we try to heat up sand up to 800 degrees. The sand container is very wel isolated. With the heat energy we can heat water when demanded or trough a generating system again electric energy.

lecture: Serendiep - Solar sailing

Proceedings of the electrification of an inland cargo barge

lecture: Edwin Dertien - Lumi

lecture (and demonstration) on robotics and theatre, the story behind 'climate adaptive smart living tiny house Lumi'

workshop: Maranke Spoor - Herbal tea tour

Permaculture teacher Maranke Spoor will show you around the garden at the WAR. You will meet a series of herbal tea plants, wich you will get to know using 3 different languages, English, Latin (the botanical name) and Dutch.

hackathon: OpenToko - help build a self organising workshop series

In the old days we had the open toko workshops, where one could learn anything together with others.
They stopped because nobody had time to organise them.
In this hackathon we will make them self organising. If someone adds a topic they want to learn about, someone else say they know something about it, a third person has a space to offer, then a date picker starts and the workshop is organised.
We will connect some open tools to build the system.

hackathon: Lucas Brouns - A foodscape navigation poster with patterns and questions

Let's draw a poster about getting food in ecologically sound ways, a poster consisting of patterns and questions. Please follow this weblink for my introducing words. English and Dutch language can both be used in this hackaton. You can participate for a part of the hackaton.

other: Maranke Spoor - Open evening The WAR library

hackathon: Maranke Spoor - Connection with people with a different worldview

In times of change commons projects can have an important role in creating a new culture, one thats creating more life. For that we need open minded people not afraid to step outside of their own " believe systems" wich can be challenging.

I'm a pascfist, a lover of the science of different cultures, and would like to talk to you about how to maintain or make a connection with people with a different worldview, and keep our minds open so change getts every chance it needs to happen.

lecture: Conversational Prototyping / Synthetic Ethnography for LLM's

Updat on the project Conversational prototyping that experiments with hardware and Large language Models. Als o: Synthetic Ethnography: how to analyse the bekaviour of Large Language Models.
